Jürgen Franz is internationally active as a soloist and chamber musician as well as a jury member of various flute competitions. Jürgen Franz is solo piccolo flutist in the NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester Hamburg and professor for flute at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg.

In this Flutynar, Jürgen Franz explored tone design and timbre in the service of interpretation. The webinar is entitled «The Poetic Flute».

Jürgen Franz has released numerous CDs (including Flute Trios from France, European Recital, Sonatas by Jean Marie Leclair with Maxence Larrie, «the poetic flute») and is the editor and arranger of, among others, Bohéme Fantasy for flute and piano, Ballade by Claude Debussy, Romantic Flute pieces (music by Wagner, Gliere, Elgar, Brahms, Mompou).
